Do you have a graphic design
or digital marketing need for
your ministry, class, or event?

Let’s work together to choose the right tool to not only reach your target audience, but also
lead them towards engagement. The request timeline is 4 weeks, so please submit your requests accordingly.

Interested in taking on
your own design?

If you have some skills in graphic design and would like to take a try at designing
your own poster, postcard, or other design element, here are some basic guidelines about creating
content within the context of our church’s brand guidelines.

Remember: always include the title, intended audience, date, location, and a simple and clear action step
(eg. register at faithmuskoka.ca, no registration needed, contact this person at this email/phone).

If your design is being used beyond the walls of our church,
please send a proof of it to
Matt Kerr for approval.

design software

If you have your own design software, that’s great! We use the Adobe Suite but it can get expensive.
Here are some alternatives that might be helpful!

SOME COMMON DIMENSIONS TO KNOW

Poster - 8.5 x 11 inches (150 dpi)
Postcard - 5.5 x 4.25 (150 dpi) - this is best for a postcard that our office is going to print on our photocopier. Dimensions can be larger for postcards that are being printed by a vendor, such as Vistaprint (see the bottom of this page for links)
Slide - 1920px x 1080px (72 dpi)
Social Media - this changes over time - search the web for “‘year’ ‘social media company’ dimensions” (eg. “2024 Instagram Dimensions” and follow their guidelines for posts, stories, and reels. Social Media images can be designed with 72 dpi.

Logo Use

Our Faith Baptist Church logo (including the mark and the full church name) should be incorporated into any design.

  • use white lettered version over coloured background and grey lettered version over a white background.

  • if using in a print design, keep the width of the logo larger than 2 inches.

  • never use drop shadow on our logo.

  • if you’re making a product with a vendor that requires a vector of our logo, email Matt Kerr (matt.kerr@faithmuskoka.ca).

COLOURS

While you are not limited to these colours, here are some colours that we commonly use in our designs.
Below each colour you can see the corresponding hex colour.

blue #0068b4

lime green #8cc63f

grey #58595b

Fonts

The font you use is important when seeking to communicate your messaging.
Here are the fonts to use for designs at Faith.

Avenir has a variety of versions, and should be your default “main text” font. It’s variety of looks within the font family allows it to easily be the only font you need for your design

Bebas Neue is a great modern font that is helpful when communicating main titles. It’s not great for using in the body of a paragraph

how to use our web address

In print designs, our web address, faithmuskoka.ca, is always written with Avenir Black.
Please note that “Black” doesn’t refer to the colour, but rather to one of the variations of the Avenir family of fonts.

Sending things out to print?

There are different options for sending out print jobs to vendors. We have a Pro Vistaprint account that gives us significant discounts on print jobs as well as faster shipping. Here are some common designs we use. Click each item to go to the Vistaprint site.

are you building a presentation slide deck?

If you have an upcoming presentation at Faith, here are two templates that will help.
One is in Powerpoint format, and the other is Keynote.

Download Powerpoint Template (.pptx)
Download Keynote Template (.key)
Google Slides Template (before building your slide deck with Google Slides,
click ‘file/make a copy/entire presentation” so you don’t edit the original template.)
